Stitcher

I'm a thirty-something mum of four who loves anything crafty, especially cross stitch. This blog is about my stitching life.

I'll be posting everything here: from samples, kits and charts that I want to buy, or have and want to stitch, or things I just generally think are funky, and I'll also be posting pictures of my finished pieces, updates of pieces I'm working on, and rants about things when they go wrong - which they often do!

I started stitching way back in 2000 - my first ever cross stitch was started (but never completed) on my hen night in the September - the seed was planted, and after that, I was hooked. I started simple - with a Winnie the Pooh letter E, and moved on from there, completing a few designs from the Designer Stitches Collection.

After suffering with a long bout of depression spanning a few years, and overcoming various issues and situations during and beyond that time, my stitching hobby suffered, and in 2008, I came across a stitching forum and got back into the swing of it. I started a project for my mum - Winter's Majesty - and really got my stitching bug back, but unfortunately, health issues that resulted in constant pain and agony left me unable to stitch for as long as I wanted to, and once again, I put it on the backburner.

Now, a year or so, and a whole lot of physio and painkillers later, I've returned to my stitching - I'm still only able to stitch for a few hours before I have to stop, but any stitching is better than none. I love it, and enjoy it, and the best part about it on top of that is that at the end of it all, I create something that is worth every stitch, every ache and pain and every frog! The stitching community I'm part of is a wonderful place full of wonderful people, and every day, I'm thankful for them.

For whatever reason you're reading this (whether you're passing through, or a regular) I hope you like what you find here, and I'd love to hear from you, if you want to get in touch.
